COVID-19 info

UPDATE June 1st: Suburban Cook County has entered the high level of community transmission per CDC data. Based on guidance from the Diocese of Chicago, the wearing of face masks is now highly recommended. However, it will not be required at this time.

UPDATE March 16th: In keeping with current recommendations of public health authorities and the Diocese of Chicago, the wearing of masks at Emmanuel is now optional based on your personal preference. We respect your choice and ask for your consideration of others. Those distributing Communion will still wear masks to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable receiving. The rear pews are designated for socially-distanced seating for those who wish. Please sanitize your hands as you enter and immediately before Communion.

While we are not currently enforcing social distancing, we do have pews set aside for this if you would find them more comfortable. Please look in the rear of the church where pews are roped off.

We are once again distributing Communion in both the bread and the wine. Wine is poured into a compostable, single-use cup which is carefully rinsed out into the piscina (a sink which drains directly into the ground) before going into the municipal composting system.

Of course, if you aren't comfortable attending in person, we totally understand! Please consider participating remotely through our live-streaming options, available here.
