More About Us

Whoever you are, wherever you are on your spiritual journey, Emmanuel Church welcomes you, regardless of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, or previous experience with that thing called ‘religion.’

Emmanuel Church was founded in 1878. Our present facilities are the third on the site and were completed in 1926. The founders established Emmanuel in what was then the geographic center of La Grange, making a claim about the centrality of Episcopal faith and life in this village.

Like all members of the Episcopal Church, we seek to restore all persons to unity to God and each other through Jesus Christ our Lord. We do this through prayer and worship, proclaiming the Gospel, and promoting justice, peace, and love. We believe that nothing, not even death itself, can separate us from the love of God in Christ, and we believe that about you as well: God loves you, without exception.
